1974 BMW R75/6

In 1974, BMW gave the 750cc R75/6 a five-speed transmission and front disk brakes. The previous slash-5 series came with drum brakes and a four-speed tranny.

          
Left photo above 1974 was the first year BMW introduced a separate, stand-alone tachometer as a standard item. Right photo above Shortly after the R90/6, R75/6, and R60/6 were introduced in 1974, the kickstarter was deleted as a standard item.
              
Left photo above Saddlebags made by Krauser were badged by BMW and offered as a slash-6 accessory. Right photo above The solid front brake disk of 1974 was replaced by a perforated disk in the 1976 model year.
